Menon started an interior decoration business in Oman, and in 1995, Sobha Developers Limited was launched as a luxury real estate company, with projects in Bahrain, Oman, the UAE, and India. That decor-first heritage still shapes the brand's obsession with finish quality today.
The company's growth has been marked by defining milestones. In 2006, SOBHA went public through its initial public offering, an event that created history when the issue got oversubscribed a record 126 times. In 2014, the company rebranded from Sobha Developers Limited to Sobha Limited, reflecting its diversified business model. Sobha Limited has delivered 148 million sqft across 600+ projects in 27 cities since 1995, with zero abandoned projects and an 8.6/10 developer risk rating. The company's construction workforce exceeds 12,400 employees directly on payroll – the highest among Indian listed developers as a ratio of revenue. This direct-hire model is rare in Indian real estate and underpins its reputation for consistent, on-time handovers.
Beyond residential towers, SOBHA has constructed a wide array of structures for prestigious corporate clients most noteworthy being Dell, Institute of Public Enterprises (IPE), Taj Group, Hotel Leela Ventures, Infosys, Bosch, HP, Biocon, Timken and more. The recognition has followed: SOBHA has earned more than 245 awards over the years, and in 2025 the company was named 'Real Estate Developer of the Year – Residential.' Today, its flagship SOBHA One World at Hoskote is a 300-acre integrated township with 5,406 apartments across 18 towers, launching at a pre-launch price of ₹14,720 per sq ft.
